Services will be held at 3 p.m. Teusday at Hillcrest Mortuary Chapel for Norman Elias Kyle, 75, who passed away on Friday, October 30. Bishop Val Taylor, Bishop Doug ampbell and President Charles Neville will officiate.
Mr. Kyle was born August 8, 1917 in Billings, Montana and came to Kern County in 1927. He went to school in Wasco and graduated from Wasco High School in 1936. He moved to Bakersfield in 1944.
Mr. Kyle was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held the office of high priest. He held the position of membership clerk for many years. He was also a member of the Retail Clerks Union and a member of Local 1036 Retirees Club. He was last employed with Mayfair Markets.
Mr. Kyle is survived by his wife of 48 years, Virginia; children Nancy and her husband Craig Stickler of Bakersfield, Cheryl and husband Noel Smith of Susanville, and Richard and wife Marlayne Kyle of Yakima, Washington; grandchildren Byron Stickler of Bakersfield, Keith Stickler and Becky Smith of Provo, Utah, Noah Smith and Rachel Smith of Susanville, Laura and husband Richard Whitney, Michelle and husband Shane Fisher and Wendy Kyle of Kennewick, Washington, and Glen Kyle of Yakima, Washington; great grandson Jason Whitney of Kennewick, Washington; brother Ramon Kyle of Calgary, Alberta, Canada; his extended family whom he cared for very much, Beverly and husband Larry Brown of Bakersfield; grandchildren Blake and wife Lisa Brown, Bart Brown and Betsey Brown all of Bakersfield; and Rhett and Julie Brown of Everett, Washington; great grandchildren Alysha and Blake Brown of Bakersfield, Taylor and Jared Brown of Everett, Washington.
Pallbearers will be Donal Stapp, Ralph Lopez, Roy Vibe, Keith Sackewitz, Owen Moulton, and Howard McArthur.
A special thank you to the nurses from Mercy Home Care and the nurses from the sixth floor at Memorial Hospital for the loving and tender care they provided. Mr. Kyle will be greatly missed by his family and many friends.
