     Caroline Crenshaw was born about 1829 in South Carolina and died before 1883 in Tennessee.  She was the daughter of Nathaniel Crenshaw and Sophia Lenderman.  She married James A. Joiner 14 November 1848 in Marshall County, Mississippi. James A Joiner was born about 1827 in Tennessee and died before 1910 in Tennessee.  He was the son of Ansel Joiner and his first wife, Hallie Mackey.   James A Joiner remarried after Caroline's death to Mattie J. and with an adopted son James Ford Ashford.
     James Ford Ashford is significant because he is the son of Ransom Green Joyner and the grandson of Margaret Catherine Joyner/Joiner, daughter of Ansel Joiner and Hallie Mackie.  Margaret Catherine Joiner/Joyner is also the sister of James A Joiner.
